Are you looking for accommodation in Juuma? The Retkietappi log cabins Honkapirtti, Kelopirtti and Piilopirtti are located near the starting point of Pieni Karhunkierros Trail in Juuma. Our cosy log cabins are available for rent all year round. They are suitable for families and adult groups. The distance to the common sandy beach is only 100 m. In summer, there is also a rowing boat available for guests to share. We welcome pets at an additional pet fee

Kelopirtti Log Cabin

For 2 + 4 people, 40 m²

Kelopirtti is a log cabin built in1987. There are beds for 2 adults and 4 children: there is a double bed in the bedroom, a single bed that pulls out into a double in the living room, and a small loft (shallow, steep stairs) with 4 mattresses. The cabin has open-plan kitchen-living room and a sauna with electric stove.

Honkapirtti Log Cabin

Honkapirtti is a log cabin built in 1985. The cabin has two sleeping alcoves. Both alcoves contain 130-140 cm wide double beds. The cabin has open-plan kitchen-living room and a sauna with electric stove.

Piilopirtti Log Cabin

Piilopirtti Log Cabin is located on the best spot, next to the starting point of Pieni Karhunkierros Trail. There are beds for two, and extra beds for two. There are bunk beds in the bedroom and a single bed that pulls out into a double in the living room. The cabin has open-plan kitchen-living room and a sauna with electric stove.

Camping Site

The area is suitable for camping in tents or in a motorhome or caravan. The prices include the use of the cooking area and toilet and shower facilities.

Lakeside Sauna

A wood-burning sauna for 3-4 people. You can book and pay for the sauna when going on an excursion. We will heat the sauna for you by the agreed time.

Plenty to do at Juuma!

In summer, the Juuma village comes to life and there is lots to do – you will not go without activities at Juuma!

Right outside your cabin, you can go for a hike on Pieni Karhunkierros Trail. After Pieni Karhunkierros, you can find your way to other trails in Oulanka National Park – the distance to Kiutaköngäs is only 16 kilometres. One of the most famous photography locations in Kuusamo, the Pähkänäkallio cliff, is also located nearby. The fishing grounds of rivers Kitkajoki and Oulankajoki are easily reached, and fishing permits are available at our café. Rafting adventures also start right outside your cabin.

When winter comes, the village of Juuma calms down and our log cabins offer you a unique experience enjoying the tranquillity of nature. The routes in Oulanka National Park are easily accessible also in winter. In early winter, it is worth taking snowshoes with you, but in the spring you can easily hike on the most popular routes on foot.

In late autumn and in winter it is possible to see the northern lights, light pollution will not disturb you here. There are many good shooting locations for Aurora hunters only a short drive away. For example, the distance to Konttainen Fell is 20 km and to Riisitunturi National Park about 40 km.

In case you would like to try some more action-packed activities, the distance to Ruka Holiday Resort is only 25 km.
